Streets of Honfleur 100 years ago

Honfleur was lucky not to be damaged during World War II. Many cities in the vicinity were completely ruined by the bombing in 1944 after the D-Day and the Landing in Normandy. Therefore pictures taken today would show the same architecture. However, people in the streets were totally different and the streets where people used to gather were not always the same...

La Rue de la République (Street of the Republic) is the main street of the city.

La Rue du Dauphin
(Dolphin's Street)

La Rue Gambetta
(Gambetta Street, now renamed Rue Haute, High Street)

some other streets

Rue Victor Hugo (Victor Hugo's Street)

Place de l'Obélisque (Obelisk Square)
